This new membership category recognizes and welcomes individuals who are not eligible for membership in our Society by descent, but nevertheless are bound to us by family ties or shared interests. This new category includes:.
- Spouses of members;
- Family members of current and deceased members;
- Persons who believe they have a Mayflower line, but are unable to prove their lineage
- Persons who are interested in furthering our goals;
- Adopted children of members (please note children do not count, as they need to become junior members)
“Friends” will not need to provide a birth certificate or any other documents since this is a special category that does not involve Mayflower lineage. In addition, “Friends” are welcome to participate in Society activities, attend dinners and meetings, and serve on committees.
Friends Dues – $100 One-time Fee – Friends are individuals who are not eligible for membership in the Society by descent but nevertheless are bound to us by family ties or shared interests. These persons include spouses of members, persons who are interested in furthering and contributing to the goals of our Society and adopted children of members. Friends of the Society are welcome to participate in the Society’s activities and in its committees, but they cannot vote on matters before the Society. Their applications are submitted by members and approved by the Historian.
